In preparation for a group gallery show honoring the celebrities who had passed around 2016, David Bowie immediately came to mind. Labyrinth is such an iconic movie from my youth, and when I think of Bowie, I think of the Goblin King. I watched the movie four times while painting this, pausing occasionally to study the characters in detail. The soundtrack lingered in my mind for the next couple of months.
