M1878 Sky Blue US Army Canteen the shoulderbaords are Luftwaffe BlueProduced in 1878 at the New York Deport. the Sky Blue Canteens are very hard to find and are one of the few datable examples to the indian wars and expansion westward which did not carry over to the Spanish American War like the rest of the 1878 Canteens without original paint. the cork is replaced as well as the retention nut and chain but the cap is original. the strap is an older replacement
