WT #55, Vase from Russian Olive with Turquoise inlay three Currently on display and available

Currently on display and available at West Winds Gallery in Grand junction

I told them I would create a piece from it and donate it to them

This piece is the most challenging hollow form I have turned thus far due to the large number of voids in the wall of the vessel combined with the burl having grown around 4 different large rocks that I had to dig out and remove from the interior of the piece during the hollowing process

This is one of my favorite pieces

I love the wavy grain pattern in Russian Olive as well as the light colored precambrian layer just under the bark it creates such a nice contrast to the wood underneath.
