I chose what I thought was an unusual viewpoint for my painting- only to discover later that JMW Turner had also painted it several times from this very same stretch of the Coquet down near the coast

I caputured this scene on Bamburgh beach, being very aware of the energy of the crashing waves. The castle behind seems solid and unchanging behind the spray filled air and tempestuous tide.
